MOGWAI SIGNS TO TRL, DROPS ATOMIC NEW ALBUM
Today is a great day for us. The legendary Mogwai have joined the Temporary Residence clan! Mogwai and Temporary Residence began at almost the exact same time – their first 7" single was released a mere six weeks before our first 7" single – and in that time we have amassed more mutual friends and collaborators than we can count, and have maintained a mutual respect for each other's work. It is an honor to finally work together in a meaningful capacity, and we're really looking forward to jamming loads of bangers in your ear holes! The first of such bangers is a BIG one: Atomic, their new album based on their soundtrack for the acclaimed BBC documentary Atomic: Living In Dread and Promise. It's dramatic, dynamic, and absolutely massive. It's the best Mogwai have Mogwai'd in as long as we can remember.
EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY ANNOUNCES THE WILDERNESS
Five years is a loooong time! That's how long it has been since our beloved Explosions In The Sky has graced us with a new album. The wait is (almost) over, as today we are ecstatic to announce The Wilderness, the sixth studio album by Explosions In The Sky. If the first single is any indication (and believe us, it is), this is a wholly evolved EITS, a band proud of its past but infinitely more interested in its future. This is the most uniquly beautiful, wonderfully strange Explosions In The Sky album ever, and it also just happens to be wildly addictive. The packaging is suitably complex and expansive, and while supplies last we have a special colored vinyl variant available exclusivrly from the Temporary Residence online shop! We only make 1,000 of those, so why are you wasting precious time still reading this...?
ROB CROW RETURNS WITH NEW BAND AND ALBUM
After a very public withdrawal from the music industry and all its toxic trappings, Rob Crow has surprised us with a triumphant return! He has formed a new band, Gloomy Place, which features members of another one of Rob's beloved bands, Heavy Vegetable. You're Doomed. Be Nice. is filled with the kind of tangled, melodic prog-pop that Crow is famous for. The songs are brilliant, the performances exceptional, and the production values higher than any solo Crow endeavors before. The colored vinyl is selling alarmingly fast, so grab that if you haven't already. If you miss it, you'll be happy to know that the black vinyl sounds just as good!
ELUVIUM UNVEILS MASSIVE NEW VINYL BOX SET
Many years in the making, and after many months of speculation, we are proud to finally reveal Life Through Bombardment Vol. 2. The second Eluvium vinyl box set that we've released, Vol. 2 quite literally picks up where the original Life Through Bombardment left off, collecting every Eluvium recording released (and some unreleased) since 2009. Similes, Nightmare Ending, Static Nocturne, the remixes, the b-sides...it's all here! Exquisite doesn't adequately describe this one. If you've seen the first Life Through Bombardment, you have an idea of the overwhelmingly beautiful look, feel, and sound of this collection. It's a truly special (truly limited) piece.
EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY & DAVID WINGO SOUNDTRACK
Following their inspired collaboration for David Gordon Green's understated motion picture, Prince Avalance, Explosions In The Sky and David Wingo have paired up again for Green's new movie, Manglehorn. The film stars veteran heavyweights Al Pacino and Holly Hunter, and the soundtrack mirrors the hushed, introspective tone of the film. This is a very limited, very special CD and LP release that will not be available in any retail shops in the world. It is a mail order exclusive, so grab it before it's gone!
