BONNIE 'PRINCE' BILLY + WATTER = BONNIE STILLWATTER
MARCH 9, 2015
Bonnie Stillwatter is a conceptual collaboration of artistry and friendship between Will Oldham (aka Bonnie 'Prince' Billy), experimental rock group Watter (featuring a member of Grails), and Stillwater Artisanal, a nomadic brewer that mixes equal parts art and alcohol. This collaboration is an inspired one, the roots of which are a mutual respect and love, and the fruits of which are two side-long trips into dark cinematic folk-rock determined to find the light at the end of the tunnel. While supplies last, we have THREE different color variants available, each hand-picked by a different member of the group!
RACHEL GRIMES (RACHEL'S) ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM
MARCH 2, 2015
Rachel Grimes is a pianist, composer, and arranger based in Kentucky – most renowned for her work in Rachel's, the groundbreaking chamber-rock ensemble that introduced an entire generation of underground rock fans to the unexpected similarities and appeal of neoclassical music. A decade after the final Rachel's record dropped, we are truly honored and delighted to bring Rachel Grimes' new solo album into the world – though "solo" might be a bit deceiving, as it is in fact a full-scale collaboration with ambient composer, loscil, and a talented ensemble featuring other members of Rachel's, Shipping News, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Helen Money, and more. It's an absolutely gorgeous, unique, DEEP record.
EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY ANNOUNCE SHOWS W/ DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE
FEBRUARY 11, 2015
It's been a while since Explosions In The Sky has been out on the road, having last toured with Nine Inch Nails back in 2013. Since then they have scored three motion pictures, and are taking the majority of this year off to write a brand new record! However, the band will come out of hibernation for a few nights in September when they will support Death Cab For Cutie in New York City, Boston, and Maryland! Seeing as EITS shows are a bit like comets lately, it goes without saying that these should not be missed!
PAUL DE JONG OF THE BOOKS ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM
FEBRUARY 10, 2015
Paul de Jong is best known as the co-founder, cellist and resident found sound savant of the beloved, defunct collage-pop duo, the Books. Five years after that band delivered their final album, The Way Out, to much acclaim, de Jong delivers his first solo album. IF sets the Books' early albums (particularly The Lemon of Pink) as a starting point, and elevates that beguiling sense of wonder and amazement to genuinely transcendent new heights. De Jong's ability to find the musical in the mundane has always been uncanny — it is part of what made the Books so magical – and that gift is what makes IF such a marvelous curiosity, and such a true pleasure to hear.
